Adamas University, with a sprawling green campus extending over 100 acres, nestled in Barasat (13 kms away from the Subash Chandra Bose International Airport Kolkata), and in its 5th year of operation, aspires to impart finest quality education to the young minds of West Bengal, with an already established high quality research facility and a powerful team of teachers. The University has many international initiatives collaborating with the industries and educational institutes to facilitate projects, research and student exchange programs. Currently, in its 5th year, the campus has 3500+ current students and more than 2000 resident students & faculty members. The University has been established with the vision of providing quality education to students to help them become professionally competent as well as academically knowledgeable under the 10 Schools of Studies.

The Adamas University has been established by Sachis Kiran Roy Memorial Trust (SKRMT) (under the West Bengal Act IV of 2014) passed by The West Bengal Legislature and approved by The Governor. The provisions of The Adamas University Act, 2014, have come into effect on 11th April 2014, through a notification issued by The Govt. of West Bengal on the same day.
As the parent organization, the RICE Group will also contribute to shaping the destiny of the youth of West Bengal pursuing their studies in the Adamas University.

Due to stressed relationship between basic and applied research, the linking to the “think global, act local” is always a challenge in scientific research. Similarly, in innovation field the dynamic pivots around both ‘research for innovation’ and ‘research on innovation’. Moreover, Innovation which often happens outside academic environment through amalgamation of inventive thinking and creative experimentation, would be required to nurture by providing an organized research eco-system.
ADAMAS University, Kolkata which has the large base of highly talented students both under-graduate (UG) and post-graduate (PG), research scholars and knowledgeable faculty members, is now poised for launching the “Centre for Research and Innovation (CRI)” under the leadership and guidance of Founder Chancellor Professor Samit Ray at its ADAMAS Knowledge City (AKC), Barasat campus. At CRI, Barasat both research and innovation would be encouraged and nurtured by providing and facilitating necessary mentoring and infrastructural facilities to its UG & PG students, researchers as well as other innovators so that it could be taken to the next level and at a greater height for serving better to the society in the widest sence.
The CRI, Barasat will be led by Dr A Mukhopadhaya, Ex-Advisor, Department of Science and Technology, New Delhi as Chairman and Professor Chiranjib Chakrabartty as Director of the Centre.

With a robust infrastructure and a strong/powerful research orientation, Adamas Universiy is all set to offer Ph.D. programme in the areas of Basic & Applied Sciences / Engineering & Technology / Humanities & Social Sciences / Law / Management/Education.
As per the UGC guidelines 2016 and its amendments, the academic programme leading to the Ph.D. degree at Adamas University involves a course work program (one semester) followed by a research project leading to thesis submission. Adamas University also actively encourages research in interdisciplinary areas through a system of joint supervision and interdepartmental group activities. The University also undertakes sponsored research and development projects from industrial and other organizations in public as well as private sectors.

The candidates, who qualify the RET examination are eligible to appear in the Interview, and accordingly the qualified candidates will be intimated for appearing in the interview.
Qualifying Degree: Master’s or equivalent degree in the relevant branch (or allied subjects).
All candidates seeking admission to the PhD program shall have to possess the requisite marks / grades in qualifying examination as indicated below:
Master’s Degree or equivalent as approved by Association of Indian Universities (AIU) in Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Technology or any other discipline.
Graduate in Professional courses recognized by law, such as, Medical, Law, Chartered Accountancy, Cost Accountancy, Company Secretary, etc. with good academic record and having aptitude for research.
The qualifying marks for Social Science /Humanity is 55% in PG level and for others 60% or equivalent grade in PG level.
